Juneteeth honored with community health fair | News [Video]

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Tuesday’s Terre Haute Day Health Fair was a chance to celebrate freedom and wellness.

The community could access free health screenings and other resources.

It was all a part of the city’s Juneteenth celebrations happening all week long. An organizer says the event is new this year to educate people about their own well-being.

“Health care and mental illness and just the resources that i feel some of us lack or the knowledge of what’s going on around us, so it’s just an opportunity to be able to share that awareness with other people,” said Theo Morgan, co-founder of Terre Haute Day.

Events are focused on youth leadership and development, economic development, education and cultural enrichment.
