The decision of whether an accused teenage killer will be released from the youth rehabilitation and treatment center in Lincoln may come out soon.Closing arguments were on Tuesday.The boy was 13 years old at the time of the murder.He’s 15 now and accused of murdering 19-year-old Alon Reed in August 2022.Prosecutors said he has been at the Lincoln facility for seven months.Tuesday’s closing arguments pick up a hearing that began earlier in April.The executive director of the North Omaha Community Partnership worries that releasing the teen is a premature decision.”I’m concerned for his safety and public safety in general because of the nature of the crime and how it was committed.
