ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke Police reports a juvenile was injured and a driver was taken into custody after a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Centre Ave Nw on Friday, April 5.
According to the police department, dispatch received a call at 5:25 p.m. about a motor vehicle accident involving a juvenile on the 2700 block of Centre Ave NW. Officers arrived and found the juvenile with injuries. Roanoke Fire/EMS took them to the hospital for treatment.
Police report the juvenile’s injuries are not life-threatening.
VSP investigating fatal incident on Trent’s Ferry Road
Police say the driver, Shakayla Andrews, allegedly the left scene after the accident. Officers later made contact with Andrews at another location where she was taken into custody and charged with felony hit-and-run.
