Kansas prosecutor disbarred in connection with wrongful imprisonment case [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A disgraced Kansas prosecutor has surrendered her license, been disbarred, and will no longer be able to give legal advice in the state.

Prosecutor Teresa Morehead was officially disbarred by the Kansas Supreme Court on Friday, April 26. She had previously been the focus of several KCTV5 investigations.

Morehead was the prosecutor in the Lamonte McIntyre case. He was freed and exonerated after he spent 23 years wrongfully imprisoned.

The disgraced prosecutor had been accused of unethical behavior as a result of the case. She also surrendered her license before the official ruling was made.

Court documents indicate that Morehead will no longer be able to practice law in the Sunflower State as a result of her unethical conduct.
