Bread is a pantry staple that can be seen in most households, and while its versatility has no limits, it unfortunately does not have the longest shelf life.

Thankfully, a food safety expert has shared her tips on how to keep bread fresh for longer.

It is easy to spot when bread goes off as it starts showing spots of mould.

Whether or not you can simply cut away the mouldy bit and eat the rest is an age-long question, and Sarah Taylor, food safety expert at High Speed Training, has set the record straight.

“It’s the age-old question, should you bin or keep bread with spots of mould?

“Mouldy bread is generally best thrown away, as the mould will likely have spread much further through the loaf than is actually visible.
