KMBC Editorial: Teaming up with Ability KC [Video]

Imagine having a child facing a life-changing illness or disability and being unable to get treatment because of the cost.Many local families face this reality.This is why KMBC 9 Cares for Kids is teaming up with Ability KC to ensure children receive necessary rehabilitation—be it physical, mental, or specialized therapy.Ability KC taught 19-year-old Tatem not to let a disability hold her back.Through therapy sessions at the non-profit, she is learning how to live more independently through tasks like washing her own dishes. She also just completed her first year of college.
