SALEM ORE (KPTV) – Governor Kotek declared an extended state of emergency on Friday because of the imminent threat of wildfire.
The state of emergency will continue until Oct. 1.
The declaration permits the use of all necessary and appropriate resources of the state to support wildland fire responses.
The order determines that the state is in a critical fire danger situation, that threatens life, safety, property because of the extreme high temperatures.

The state has experienced three wildfires this season that have resulted in conflagration declarations, two federal Fire Management Assistance Grant declarations, several community evacuations, threatening of damaged structures, and critical infrastructure.
