Kronenwetter to let EMS contract with Riverside expire as village seeks its own EMS services [Video]

KRONENETTER, Wis. (WSAW) – Kronenwetter continues to do its diligence on a $710,000 ambulance service.

On Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Kronenwetter held a public forum to hear any concerns or support from people who live there. While the decision will impact Riverside Fire District, located in Rothschild, they did not have a representative in attendance as they are staying neutral in this conversation.

Kronenwetter is proposing two advanced emergency medical technician ambulances. These ambulances will have equipment for transporting people to the hospital, but if the contract ends with Riverside, they will still call Riverside if they don’t have the correct life-saving equipment.

Riverside has had its contract with Kronenwetter since 2023 which is set to expire in 2025. While Kronenwetter says these ambulance services will improve response times, Riverside says they are already pretty quick with two to three ambulances staffed daily.
