Since its humble beginning as an Oklahoma Orphanage in 1898, Bethany Children’s Health Center has grown into an innovative leader in the field of pediatric rehabilitation and 24-hour complex care. Recognized nationally for our inpatient services, we are also meeting a growing demand for outpatient care. In 2017, our outpatient services moved to a new tower on campus, enabling significant growth in providers and services. The outpatient therapy clinics recorded 11,466 patient visits in 2023, while the primary care pediatric clinic saw 9,705 patient visits. Bethany Children’s is eclipsing the physical space for outpatient services. Today, Bethany Children’s offers premier primary care, specialty services, therapies, and continuing post-discharge care, many of which are rare nationwide, let alone in Oklahoma. The demand for these specialized services is high and steadily increasing.

The new outpatient center of excellence will enable Bethany Children’s to reduce the growing waitlist for services, expand our team of healthcare professionals, and share our providers’ expertise as a center for shared learning with cutting-edge technologies and equipment.

These services and treatments enable children and teens to recover from debilitating traumatic injuries and illnesses and thrive – maximizing their potential to take flight into a promising future.

Guided by the vision of Storyland Studios and REES Architects, the concept for the $178 million, 200,000-square-foot Outpatient Tower offers a unique design that will stand as a landmark on historic Route 66. What better symbol for the transformation of a child under specialized care than a vibrant, colorful, four-story caterpillar, destined to become a butterfly, soaring into the next phase of their journey?
