Large hail falls in central Nebraska Monday [Video]

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – Some residents in central Nebraska experienced hail and storms Monday night.

Multiple storm reports were submitted to the National Weather Service with some seeing half-dollar size hail over in the Wood River area and quarter-size/ping pong hail in the Grand Island area.

Many buildings and roofs were damaged by the hail. Roofers were seen across town inspecting roofs for safety and damage.

Roads in Wood River were covered in leaves and many cars had hail damage.

Around 8 p.m. Monday, several chasers reported a brief tornado southwest of Grand Island. Here’s video showing a funnel cloud during that time.
