BBC‘s Alex Jones and Lauren Laverne welcomed Jill Halfpenny and Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen in for a chat on Wednesday’s The One Show.

The episode took an emotional turn as the Byker Grove star and the interior designer got candid about dealing with grief after losing major people in their lives.

Jill was on the show to promote and chat about her new book titled, A Life Reimagined: My Journey of Hope in the Midst of Loss, which lays bare her experience of dealing with losing her father and husband.

Matt, Jill’s partner tragically passed away in 2017 from a fatal heart attack that mirrored her father Colin’s death four decades earlier when she was aged four.

After giving an insight into her book and her difficult journey with grief, the conversation turned to Lawrence – who also lost his dad at a young age.
