Law enforcement agencies provide latest crime statistics from the Motorcycle Rally [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – This is day five of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and the South Dakota Highway Patrol reported two more fatal accidents from last Wednesday.

The Patrol says a rider was killed when their Harley Davidson struck a Toyota that was attempting to exit I-90 and enter Highway 85. The other accident happened on Nemo Road when a Harley heading east crossed the centerline and collided with another Harley heading west.

The rider on the westbound bike was killed and the rider on the eastbound bike suffered life threatening injuries.

Law enforcement gave a rally update today.

Since August 3rd, there have been 69 DUI arrests in the district, 69 felony drug arrests 11 injury accidents and two fatal accidents.

According to the South Dakota Department of Transportation, from August 2 through the 4, more than 214,000 vehicles entered Sturgis which is a 10 percent increase from last year.
