Lincoln Police, Lincoln Fire and Rescue host car seat education event [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire and Rescue held a car seat education event in northeast Lincoln on Wednesday to talk about how critical having the right car seat is.

People from around the city attended the event outside the Walmart near 84th and Adams streets to learn more. During the event, LPD and LFR also had different types of car seats to demonstrate how to properly install them.

“Car seats are a critical piece of safety equipment. Unfortunately, car crashes are one of the major causes of death and injury for kids, so we want to make sure that kids are properly buckled and restrained as they go out and about and hit the roads, whether it’s in town or out for those summer vacations,” Scott Eveland with the Lincoln Police Department said.
