Tonight’s vigil took place at the Euclid Police Department. A second vigil in Cuyahoga Heights will take place on Thursday.
EUCLID, Ohio — Northeast Ohioans are continuing to honor the life and legacy of Jacob Derbin, the 23-year-old Euclid police officer who was shot and killed over the weekend.
On Tuesday, a candlelight vigil for Derbin took place at the Euclid Police Department, located on East 222nd Street. Members of the community as well as police officers and firefighters gathered to share their grief over Derbin’s loss.

In addition, on Thursday, May 16, another candlelight vigil will be held in honor of Derbin. The vigil will take place from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Ralph P. Adams Football Stadium on East 71st Street in Cuyahoga Heights.
“Let’s light the night with memories and love as we honor and remember a remarkable life,” organizers posted on Facebook.
