Local authorities work with Texas A&M extension service on event safety [Video]

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – On Thursday at the Resch Center, local authorities worked with an extension service from Texas A&M to enhance their response when disasters arise.

Inside the incident command post, students coordinated with local officials from fire, law enforcement, and public health in simulated emergency situations to improve communications between departments if something were to happen.

This three-day program is provided by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service to practice operations for sporting and special events. Some officials say this training has given them ideas about how to plan for future events, and more to think about when it comes to informing the media and public when disasters strike.
