Local physical therapist discusses at-home care program [Video]

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Staying active is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, but playing sports and staying on the move unfortunately comes with the risk of injury.

Recovering from an injury can require physical therapy, and those in the Wilmington area who need such care may be eligible to receive it at home.

Tyler Capellan, with Novant Health, spoke about the at-home physical therapy program.

“… I’ve treated people who were former athletes, I’ve treated people who honestly aren’t used to even getting out of bed anymore. I’ve had patients who’ve come to me and said, ‘I haven’t been able to walk or stand in two years.’ So being able to get them back up and on their feet, even brush their teeth, or get out of bed that changes their lives that really gives them the extra push,” Capellan said.
