The fight against blight dates back to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 when homes were left forgotten and falling apart. Nearly two decades later, it’s still a problem and for one 7th Ward woman, she opens her door to blight every single day.Maeve Burns lives right next to Praise Temple Ministry Church on St. Anthony Street. “Yeah, this is — oh, it’s getting a lot worse now,” said Burns. “The cracks go all the way down now.
