LPS community remembers Gary Reber [Video]

Gary Reber loved deeply, laughed loudly and lived big.

His smile was contagious and his kind heart unwavering. He was fiercely loyal, determined and passionate.

He was just good all around, his daughter, Ellen Reber, said this week. “He was such a kind and generous person.”  

Reber, who worked for the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools for nine years, died unexpectedly at his home on Jan. 3 at age 61. A service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the St. Paul United Methodist Church. His family has asked that memorial gifts be directed to the foundation.

Education meant a lot to Reber. His mother was a teacher and his wife, Pam Reber, and daughter Ellen are both teachers at Lincoln Public Schools. It was no surprise to his family and friends that he loved his job working with …
