Malvern cowboy recovering after horse riding accident [Video]

MALVERN, Ark. – A Central Arkansas cowboy is recovering after a tragic accident while competing last month.

Dante Reed spent nearly a week in the hospital after a tumble while chuckwagon racing at the Whiskey Ridge Rance in Malvern.

Reed was hospitalized with multiple brain bleeds, A broken collar bone and a fractured face.

“I ended up getting resuscitated twice and had 2 seizures,” Reed said “After that, I barely knew my name.”

The accident happened on May 26. Just weeks later, Reed said that he is blessed to be alive and able to walk and talk. His doctor requested him to wear a sling.

“I woke up this morning. Maybe hurting, but I woke up this morning,” Reed said as he expressed his grace.
