Man, 66, killed in Oneida County ATV crash [Video]

HARSHAW, Wis. (WSAW) – The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed a man who hit a telephone phone pole with his ATV over the weekend has died.

Investigators said the crash happened around 6 p.m. on Lakewood Road near Sand Lake Road in the Town of Cassian. A preliminary report shows the man missed a curve and struck the telephone pole.

The 66-year-old victim died at the scene.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is completing the accident report. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Cassian first responders, Oneida County EMS, DNR, Minocqua Police Department and the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Department.

The man’s name will not be released until after his family is notified.
