Man charged after 2 women, including pregnant wife, killed in crash [Video]

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT/Gray News) – A man was charged after two people and an unborn baby were killed in a crash in Tennessee.

Emergency crews responded to a head-on crash on Friday around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Raccoon Valley Road and Hausmond Way, according to the Rural Metro Fire Department.

According to court records, 20-year-old Jonathon Jones, of Luttrell, was driving east on Raccoon Valley Road in a Nissan Sentra when he crossed into the westbound lane and hit a Ford Expedition.

Several witnesses told troopers that Jonathon Jones had been driving recklessly and was passing other cars on a double-yellow line before the crash.

Officials with the fire department said, “Several were trapped and had to be cut from the wreckage.”

According to court documents, five people were injured and taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment.
