Man charged with setting Williamsburg Co. home on fire after argument [Video]

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – A 28-year-old man is facing charges after deputies say he set the house that he and another person were living in on fire in Williamsburg County.

Jaquan Tyriq Simmons, of Manning, is charged with domestic violence high and aggravated and second-degree arson, according to the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office.

First responders were called to a report of a structure fire on North Lane Road in Williamsburg County around 10:20 p.m. Saturday, Investigator Jalisa Brown said in a release.

Upon arrival, deputies found the house fully engulfed in flames.

Investigators learned that the victim and Simmons were living together and were involved in a disagreement before he started the fire inside the home. Simmons told the victim that he would “set the whole f—— block on fire,” the report states.

Simmons was arrested on Broomstraw Road in the Lane area of Williamsburg County.
