Man dies of injuries sustained in 1986 assault [Video]

Craig Tschudy was attacked by unknown assailants in 1986 and suffered a traumatic brain injury, authorities said. He died of complications from the injury last week.

YORK, Pa. — A 64-year-old York County man who suffered permanent traumatic brain injuries from an attack in York City 38 years ago died last Wednesday at a Dallastown nursing center, the York County Coroner’s Office announced.

Craig Tschudy succumbed to his injuries at the Inners Creek Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dallastown, according to York County Coroner Pamela Gay.

In 1986, Tschudy was attacked by an unknown group of assailants who struck him with a baseball bat, Gay’s office said in a press release.

Tschudy, who was 26 years old at the time of the attack, was the victim of mistaken identity, authorities said. His attackers were never identified, and no charges were ever filed. He suffered permanent brain injuries and complications …
