Man drowns in Perry County boating accident [Video]

A man died Sunday morning after the boat he was in overturned along Shermans Creek in Wheatfield Township, according to Perry County emergency dispatch.

Rescue crews were called around 8 a.m. to a section of the creek located along Dugans Mill Road, just downstream from the historic Delville Covered Bridge, according to 911 dispatch.

One man was rescued from a small boat or canoe, according to dispatchers. Another man was recovered from the water and pronounced deceased, according to dispatch; he was transported from the scene by the coroner’s office.
