Man from Allegany County involved in fatal rollover crash [Video]

COHOCTON, N.Y. — An Allegany County man was involved in a fatal rollover crash that happened Wednesday in Steuben County.

The crash happened around 4:55 p.m. Wednesday on State Route 371, near State Route 21, in the Town of Cohocton. That’s where New York State Police say a northbound 2017 Dodge Caravan on State Route 371 attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. 

The driver of that vehicle, 31-year-old Lukas J. Ellsessor of Angelica, lost control of the Dodge, which left the roadway before rolling over. A passenger, identified as a 26-year-old man, was ejected and was declared dead at the scene.

Ellsessor was treated for minor injuries at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
