Marion Mayor hosts Walk with the Mayor [Video]

MARION, Miss. (WTOK) – Health, safety, and citizen concerns are at the top of mind for the mayor of Marion. So, the idea of “Walk with the Mayor” came to be.

On Saturday at 8 a.m., Mayor Larry Gill wants every resident of Marion to take a walk with him.

The mayor says this is a way for him to get out in the community to learn about their concerns as residents and what he could be doing better as mayor.

He is partnering with Darrin Mitchell, a local personal trainer, who will give fitness tips to people who join in on the walk.

“Well, we are in the process of going through grants with the Mississippi Department of Health and one initiative that we decided to push was “Walk with the Mayor.” It’s an opportunity for people to come out and have conversations with me while we walk. And …
