Maxwell Air Force Base hosts day 1 of Beyond the Horizon Air Show [Video]

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Ear plugs and lawn chairs were a common sight at Maxwell Air Force Base on Saturday, as thousands came out to witness performances from the latest state of the art military technology.

The show was made more significant by the rich military and aviation history in the area.

“It’s just priceless,” explained Maxwell Air Force Base Command Chief Caleb Vaden. “The P-51 is my favorite aircraft, it’s what the Tuskegee Airmen flew in. The first school that taught aviators how to aviate from the Wright Brothers was right here, close to where we’re standing.”

It was the first air show in close to a decade at the base, and the community showed up by the thousands.
