Medina council prepares to place EMS renewal levy on November ballot [Video]

MEDINA, Ohio – Council has taken the first steps to place a 3.2-mill renewal levy for EMS services on the November ballot.

During a June 10 meeting council approved a resolution requesting the Medina County Auditor to certify the total current tax valuation and the dollar amount of revenue that would be generated for the renewal of 3.2 mills for the operation of emergency medical services.

“This is the first step of the process to put the renewal on the ballot,” said Finance Director Keith Dirham. “We send this to the county to be certified, the county will send it back to us and then council will need to pass a resolution of necessity so we can place the levy on the November ballot.
