Moment fire rips through flat in Woolwich high rise causing huge emergency response and 10 engines to rush to the scene [Video]

This is the moment a blaze tore through a flat in an east London high-rise, forcing ten fire engines to rush to the scene. 

The London Fire Brigade was forced to send as many as 70 firefighters to tackle the huge fire on Woolwich’s Rymill Street tonight. 

While the fire service initially feared the worst, they revealed in their latest update that the three people who were in the flat at the time managed to escape before they needed rescuing. 

Other residents of the tall tower block stayed in their flats, they added. 

London Fire Brigade said: ‘Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters tackled a flat fire on Rymill Street in North Woolwich.
