MONROE, La. (KNOE) – UPDATE: According to Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, around 1:30 p.m. today (April 12) deputies responded to a call that a man had been hit by a train on Thomas Road near the Kansas City Southern railway crossing.
Officials said the man died from his injuries on the scene.
Thomas Road has been re-opened.

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office is working an accident involving a Kansas City Southern train near Thomas Road in West Monroe.
OPSO says the crossing on Thomas Road, which is south of I20, will be closed for a short while. They ask motorists to use another route if possible while they work to clear the scene.
