Mother of 6-year-old drowning victim speaks out [Video]

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Within weeks, two Jackson Public School students from the same elementary died after near drownings.

“I don’t want any other parents to have to feel the pain that I’m feeling by losing Logan because Logan was my everything,” says Tehan Ford, the mother of six-year-old drowning victim Logan Love.

Ford says she is overwhelmed with grief. On Memorial Day weekend, she lost her only child.

While at Lakeshore Park, Ford says family members could not find him so she called the Reservoir Police Department.

When officers arrived, they immediately jumped in to save the six-year-old. Logan was then taken to the hospital.

“The doctor had told me, ‘I’m sorry, Ms. Ford, but there’s nothing else we could do. He didn’t make it.’ That was the worst day of my life. I tried to live with it, but I feel that I failed him as a mother …
