Mother says students saved her sons life after man allegedly tried to grab him during recess [Video]

AURORA, Colo. (KKTV/Gray News) – A Colorado mom said students at an elementary school saved her son’s life by yelling “stranger danger” after a man allegedly tried to grab him during recess last week.

Aurora police said 33-year-old Solomon Galligan walked onto school grounds, approached a group of children and tried to grab one of them.

He was seen on security footage walking away after the kids were running away and shouting, according to CBS Denver.

Ayala said her son gave police the suspect’s description, including he had white powder or some sort of substance on his face and that he smelled like alcohol.

“It was these kids who saved my son’s life,” Ayala, the child’s mother told CBS Denver.

After the attempted kidnapping, she said her son hadn’t slept in three days. Ayala and other parents said that the school staff was far too slow to act.

“My son is saying the [teacher assistants] were on their phones,” she said.
