Mother sues Berkeley Co. Schools, Sheriffs Office, after finding bruises on son [Video]

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – A mother filed a lawsuit against Berkeley County School District and Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office after she found bruises on her 8-year-old son with special needs.

Lauren Albright, the mother of Noah Geene, said she received a call from Whitesville Elementary School on Nov. 16, 2023, regarding her son having a hard time at school.

Albright says she learned that her son left the classroom after an argument with his teacher to sit in his “comfort spot,” which is near a statue.

School administrators asked the resource officer on duty to help move the boy from his comfort space because “he was not in a safe space as he could possibly knock the sculpture over, which could possibly cause injury to himself,” according to the incident report.
