Motorcyclist dies after crash on Highway 20 [Video]

UPDATE

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – The motorcycle driver involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon on Highway 20 has died, according to authorities.

Sioux City Police responded to that accident on Highway 20 near Mile Marker 2 by the S. Lakeport Commons exit. Sioux City Police say the motorcyclist was merging onto Highway 20 westbound from the on-ramp off South Lakeport, dropped off the edge of the the pavement at the end of the on-ramp and lost control.

The driver and the motorcycle went down, slid across the traffic lanes and into the median that separates the east and west lanes of traffic and the driver was separated from the bike. The motorcycle was struck by an oncoming vehicle, the driver was not.

The collision with the oncoming vehicle sent the motorcycle into the ditch and it caught fire. The driver of the motorcycle, who was not struck by any vehicle, sustained …
