N.J. driver found months after crash that killed 17-year-old pedestrian, cops say [Video]

Authorities on Thursday arrested a driver they’ve been searching for since a February crash at the Jersey Shore that killed at 17-year-old pedestrian.

Absecon police on Friday said Everette D. Williams, of Atlantic City, was arrested by U.S. Marshals after a warrant was issued. The 52-year-old was found in Atlantic City, police said.

Attorney information for Williams was not available Friday.

Williams allegedly struck the teenager near the Executive Lodge on Route 30 in Absecon on Feb. 17. Police released photos days later of a white Jeep Compass, believing the vehicle sustained front-end damage from the impact.

Until his arrest, Williams could not be located, police said. He is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash, driving with a suspended license, being involved in a crash that resulted in the death of a person, removal of a vehicle identification number and other traffic offenses, police said.

The crash disrupted traffic for about five hours.
