Nebraska corrections staffer assaulted [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) – An investigation is underway after a Nebraska Department of Correctional Services staffer was attacked by an inmate last week.

According to a report made public on Friday, an imate at the Reception and Treatment Center, located at 3218 W. Van Dorn St., “punched the staffer in the head mulitple times” last Wednesday, April 4.

While the staff member initially wasn’t found to have sustained any serious injuries, they were later diagnosed with a concussion, the NDCS report states.

An investigation into the incident is under way. The resulting report will be submitted to the Lancaster County Attorney, who will determine whether any charges will be filed.
