New Hanover Co. family loses dog in early morning house fire [Video]

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – A New Hanover County family lost their dog in an early morning house fire near Ashley High School, according to NHC Fire Rescue.

Per NHCFR, crews responded to the home on Okeechobee Road at around 12:45 a.m. Friday, April 5.

“There was only one individual home at the time of the fire who sustained no injuries, the other members of the family were out of town. The family however, did lose their dog,” NHCFR states. “The cause of this fire is under investigation by New Hanover County Fire Marshal Office.”
