Nima-Paloma storm drain to be covered GARID [Video]

In a major boost to flood resilience and waste management in the Odaw River basin, the Ghana Resilient and Integrated Development (GARID) program has taken over the reconstruction of the Nima-Paloma Storm Drain.

The project, which has been long-awaited by residents, promises to bring an end to the persistent flooding and waste management woes that have plagued their communities for years.

According to GARID Coordinator, Dr. Kwadwo Ohene Sarfoh, the drain will be covered to prevent residents from throwing garbage into it, a major cause of flooding in the area.

This move is expected to bring relief to communities that have long been overwhelmed by flooding and poor waste management.

He added that work is expected to be completed in 18-month period.

Dr. Sarfoh called on residents to cooperate with the contractor any inconvenience which may arise out of the reconstruction.
