NOPD arrests fatal hit & run suspect [Video]

New Orleans Police announced Monday the arrest of 22-year-old Seth Anthony West in connection with a deadly hit-and-run incident in New Orleans East.

The crash shortly after 8:30 p.m. April 20 in the 8500-block of the I-10 Service Road killed a pedestrian.

“The driver of a red Nissan 370Z collided with the victim, a female, as she was walking on the eastbound shoulder of the roadway,” said police. “The driver of the Nissan fled without stopping.”

Police say investigators located the vehicle Sunday.

“Through further investigation, NOPD Traffic Fatality Unit detectives positively identified West as the driver of the vehicle at the time of the incident,” police said.

West was booked with one count each of hit-and-run driving involving death or serious bodily injury and of obstruction of justice.
