Norfolk town residents blast plan to turn Massachusetts prison into migrant facility [Video]

There was a lot of anger Wednesday night over a plan to turn an old Massachusetts prison into a new emergency shelter. Norfolk town officials admitted at a packed meeting on Wednesday night that they don’t currently have all the answers. “Help our own. Do something to stop it,” said John Semas, a Norfolk town resident against the shelter. Semas is angry over the state’s plan to reopen the former Bay State Correctional Center as its next emergency shelter.”How we’re doing this now is not working,” Semas said before the meeting. “It’s not successful in any way, shape or form.”He’s angry over the lack of communication from the state, and he’s not alone. Massachusetts state Rep. Marcus Vaughn, a Republican who represents the 9th Norfolk district, said he only learned about the plan on Friday.
