LEFT-behind cars with shattered windshields, flat tires, and leaking oil have piled up in a neighborhood, prompting homeowners to cry out for help.

The complaints have gotten so loud that a city councilperson is now asking other lawmakers to close loopholes to get the cars off the streets.

The neighborhood in Dover, Delaware, has seen several unmaintained, undrivable cars pile up.

“Nobody is coming around and towing them,” Councilman Brian Lewis told Maryland-based CBS affiliate WBOC while standing next to a broken down Nissan Altima sedan.

“The city staff is not addressing the issue in a timely fashion.”

Lewis said a tangled web of laws has complicated enforcement against dumping vehicles.
