Notre Dame G Cass Prosper’s Comeback Trail Set To Continue At Olympics [Video]

Cass Prosper’s comeback from a chronic lower-leg injury will finally move into the public eye — and on a grand stage.

On Tuesday, the Notre Dame rising junior guard was named to the 12-player Olympic women’s basketball roster for Team Canada, putting her on track to compete in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.

Former Notre Dame standout and current WNBA star Natalie Achonwa also made the team — and made history. The 31-year-old forward is the first four-time Olympian in Canadian women’s basketball history.

In 2009, she became the youngest player to make the Canadian senior team to play in international competition at age 16. She played in her first Olympics three years later.

Achonwa is a 2014 graduate of Notre Dame and native of Ontario. She was an AP third-team All-American in 2015. She had a career field-goal percentage of 56.2, eighth in Irish history. Her 970 career rebounds rank fifth, and her 1,546 career points 17th all-time.
