NRL yet to decide on tribute for Sydney Roosters veteran [Video]

The NRL is yet to determine whether chief executive Andrew Abdo will present the match ball to Michael Jennings after his 300th game, and what tribute, if any, is paid to the veteran, after his ex-partner alleged the code “doesn’t take the safety of women seriously”.

Jennings, who has made an unlikely return to the NRL with the Roosters, is poised to be just the 51st player in Australian top grade rugby league history to reach the 300-game mark in Newcastle on Thursday night, just a week after returning to the NRL from a three-year drugs ban.

The celebration is set to divide the game after Jennings was ordered to pay nearly $500,000 in damages for personal injuries, including post-traumatic stress disorder, to his ex-wife Kirra Wilden following a civil case in the NSW District Court. Jennings denies the allegations he verbally and …
