Nurse’s comp claim denied after coworkers failed to give CPR for 7 minutes

Andrea Morris, a former nurse at the City of Hope cancer infusion center in Upland, suffered sudden cardiac arrest at work in 2020.

Instead of giving Morris CPR during the first 7 minutes of the incident, her boss, also a nurse, videotaped the medical emergency.

Morris now requires 24/7 care, which costs more than $200,000 a year, but City of Hope has denied her workers’ compensation claim.

City of Hope told NBC4’s I-Team it’s “committed to maintaining a safe work environment” for its staff and clinical teams but cannot comment on the ongoing case.
