OKLAHOMA COUNTY — Two men are dead after a fatal crash in Oklahoma City.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), Maximillian Pfeifer, 24, of Edmond, and Brice Kukuzke, 25, of Stewartville, both passed away after the car they were in departed the roadway on I-44 eastbound just east of Western Avenue in Oklahoma City.

OHP says the car, a 2022 Vander Venice, departed the roadway to the left, striking the concrete barrier wall going under the cable barrier. The car then struck a crash attenuator, again striking the concrete barrier wall before going over the cable barrier, coming to stop facing westbound in the eastbound lanes of traffic.

Pfeifer, who OHP says was the driver, was pronounced dead on scene by the Oklahoma City Fire Department. Kukuzke was transported to OU Medical Center where he was pronounced dead with head internal injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
