Oklahoma Tornadoes Kill Two, Including Child | HNGN [Video]

A child and adult were killed in a series of tornadoes that crossed Oklahoma over the weekend.

Severe storms, straight-line winds, hail and flooding tore throught the state. Homes and businesses were destroyed.

A tornado in Holdenville was blamed for the deaths. Four others were injured, Hughes County Emergency Medical Services said. Three of the injured were in serious condition.

Fourteen homes were destroyed or damaged.

Several buildings were reduced to rubble after a tornado ripped through downtown Sulphur. Several houses lost their roofs to the wind.

The Murray County Sheriff’s Office warned people to stay away from the town.

“DO NOT COME TO SULPHUR!!! Stay at home and do not come to LOOK! Those who are, you are making things difficult for all emergency personal to do their job!” officials wrote in a Facebook post.

A hospital was also damaged in Marietta. Patients took shelter during the storms and no injuries in the hospital were reported, the Oklahoma Office of Emergency Management said in a storm update.
