NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say one person is in the hospital after being shot and stabbed at a popular park along Lake Murray in Newberry County.
The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office said deputies, Lake Murray rescue crews and emergency medical services were called to the Sunset Park area of Newberry County off Hollands Landing Drive on Saturday regarding an incident.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is still preliminary but shows an argument between several people, which turned into a fight. The sheriff’s office said one person was stabbed and shot at the location. That person was taken by helicopter. A deputy also called for backup due to the crowd’s reaction at the scene.
