Owensboro Health Cancer Survivors celebrate being cancer-free at Western Kentucky Botanical Garden | News [Video]

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) —Owensboro Health cancer survivors gathered with their loved ones to commemorate their journey to becoming cancer-free.

In the beautiful and tranquil setting of the Botanical Garden, they captured photos and memories, celebrating life and resilience.

44News spoke with a Counselor at the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center, Heather Gray, on the importance of this event.

“You know it’s all these appointments, maybe even surgery, maybe treatment. There’s a lot of changes and it’s very easy to get overwhelmed. So we kind of stop living. We need to just take that moment with family friends. Enjoy. Laugh,” Gray expressed.

At the heart of this celebration is the newly constructed “Path of Hope and Healing.” This 300-foot walking path was designed to provide a space of peace and tranquility for those affected by cancer.
