SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A man who barricaded himself inside an apartment in San Francisco’s Parkmerced neighborhood is in custody, according to the San Francisco Police Department. The man may be experiencing a mental health emergency, according to SFPD.
Officers from the SFPD Taraval Station initially responded at around 6:32 a.m. to an apartment on the 400 block of Gonzalez Drive on a report of someone breaking in and making threats. At the scene, officers are attempting to make contact with the person.

Officers coordinated and developed a strategic plan and utilized the assistance of SFPD’s Crisis Negotiations Team and other units to safely take the suspect into custody around 2:17 p.m., police said.
There are no reports of any injuries at this time. Police are declining to identify the suspect at this time as charges are still pending.
