Pedestrian killed on Love County freeway – KTEN [Video]

LOVE COUNTY, Okla. (KTEN) — All southbound lanes of Interstate 35 were closed to traffic early Monday morning after an 18-wheeler struck and killed a pedestrian.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the victim as 38-year-old Mark Caleb Bennett of Ardmore.

A medical helicopter landed at the scene to provide care for the Bennett, who was pronounced dead later at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Traffic was detoured to US 77 after the 5 a.m. incident near Exit 21 between Ardmore and Marietta.

The freeway was closed for about two hours. OHP said the cause of the fatal accident remains under investigation.
